The Ruth Valley Missing Giveaway!

It’s giveaway time!

The paperback version of The Ruth Valley Missing is now available on Amazon. To celebrate, I am giving away three copies here on the blog.

What do you need to do to qualify?

I’ll be honest, this was a tough one.

I don’t want you to follow me on Twitter, friend me on Facebook, or subscribe to my blog unless you honestly want to read what I have to say on a regular basis. I don’t want to  make you jump through countless hoops, just for the chance to score a free book.

So, to qualify for a free copy of The Ruth Valley Missing you must:

a) comment on today’s post by 11/28

That’s really it. If you have an especially creative comment, that could be what wins you a copy. If everyone does a solid job, I may have to choose at random. And if you’ve already ordered a copy, you can always throw a vote to one of the existing comments.

No fancy rafflecoptering, no follows, just a good old fashioned comment on the post.

There are three copies up for grabs (congrats to Steven Montano and Andrew Mocete for their Twitter wins!).

If you haven’t checked out The Ruth Valley Missing yet and can’t wait for the contest to end, you can grab a copy for your Kindle (or Kindle reader) this weekend at a special sales price.

Best wishes to everyone entering!

  1. Congrats on the release, Amber! Will make sure to spread the word about this:)

  2. Sounds like an excellent read, would love to get my hands on a copy. And hey, if I won, you wouldn’t have to pay a whole lot for shipping considering I’m just across the state. ;o)

  3. I’ve got the book queued up on my Kindle and just as soon as I finish beta reading two other books (hopefully by Sunday), I’m all yours, darling! I’ve been dying to read your book, which is why I made myself the rule that I had to finish the betas ~ you’re my reward for hard work.

I’m so excited for you! Congrats again and here’s to much success to this book and all your future books.

  4. Kippy Gross says:

Congratulations my friend!!! I’m sooooo excited for your success!!! I love a good mystery, and from all the reviews I’ve read it sounds like your book will not disappoint! It will be fun to read it knowing that I’ve had the pleasure of knowing the author since she was a kid! Love you!!!

  5. Amber! Is it wrong that I would totally love a copy of your book for no other reason that I got all stoked beta reading your copy on Google and I would just love an autographed copy from you, Mrs. Author!

  6. Hmm it’s situations like this that inspired the title of my blog – You expect me to be clever here, don’t you? lol

  7. Hey Amber!! I think you should choose me for the giveaway because I’d be the very first person in Ecuador to read your book!!! Wouldn’t that immediately make you an international author?? Imagine the future publicity headline, “Amber West, the author with international appeal”…sounds pretty cool, huh!! :) Anyway, super stoked for you – congrats!! Say hi to your hubs for me. Miss you guys! -Clint

    • Amber West says:

Clint, you’ve made the assumption that I don’t already have readers outside the US (which I do ;) ).

Miss you too – love to the wifey.

      • There you went and burst my bubble. But surely I’ll be the first one from Ecuador, right??? Maybe you shouldn’t answer that…

        • Follow up…I was one of the “can’t wait until the contest ends” people so I bought a digital copy on Amazon. Nice read and I liked the twist at the end!!! I still would like to win your contest if the book was signed by you! And…today is our anniversary so there you have even more reason!!! :)

  8. nevermouse says:

I had to struggle past so many obstacles just to comment here: wild animals (LuLu the “ferocious” pit-boxer mix kept blocking my way to the computer until I snuggled with her), medical emergencies (Mark’s contact lens popped out of his eye! While he was eating a corn dog!), near death (I still have this horrible chest cold!!) … and yet I persevered (please read it in the Shakespearian way, perSEVerd), despite the way that, even now, I must wade through an onslaught of both run-on sentence and parentheses to finally arrive at begging for my own copy of your amazing new book!

Pretty please may I have one? I really want to read it — and if I had a copy, I’d be much more likely to pick it as my book club selection for the coming year.

  9. Super proud of you and I can’t wait to read. I’m ordering mine now, so don’t enter me. But YAY!!!!

  10. I love your blog so therefore I know I would love your book!! Is that a good enough reason? ;)

  11. Jameson sounds like a fascinating character who I look forward to getting to know. Kudos to you for this amazing milestone in your life….hopefully, your first book of many.

  12. Honestly, I don’t have a clue what your book is about, but I do love to read. As I’m writing this I’m sitting in my car in my driveway playing on my phone. Why? Because I have a 9month old who was being a total grump and refused to take a nap for me. So my last resort before I started to pull out my hair was go for a drive because it alway seems to do the trick. But now I’m stuck in the car with nothing to do till he wakes. But if I had a nifty copy of your book I could be sitting in my car reading instead so pick me:-)

  13. Thank goodness we just have to comment, I always feel so used…shutter….. by those rafflecopter giveaways. Not mention when you see 1,000 other enteries it makes you a little depressed. rafflecopter=depression. So, hats off to you for creating an amazing anouncement allowing anyone an alluring alternative to boredom.

    • Amber West says:

Aw, thanks, Claire. I understand the other ways, but I just wanted to keep it simple here – ’cause that’s me. :)

  14. Erika @NaMammaSte says:

I definitely want a copy! Yes, I have a kindle copy already, but there’s nothing like like a real book. :)

    • Amber West says:

If you don’t win, we’ll see about getting you a copy at a discount since you’ve already purchased the Kindle version.

  15. Mike Robertson says:

Win this comp or not… I’ll be getting myself an old school paperback copy… coz that’s how I roll! :D

  16. I want the paperback to go with the Kindle copy I already have. That makes a matched set … or something … right? I hope you are enjoying every minute of this most excellent adventure!

  17. Greetings from your bookish amigos in Tucson…So excited for your published-ness! (May we purchase a copy directly from the source, so as to have it autographed?)

    • I’m ordering a set for an upcoming book club that asked that I do a signing (yeah, that feels weird to say). I’ll send you the details for getting your copy to you when I put together that order. :)

  18. Comment. Comment. Comment. LOL

I am so happy for you!! CONGRATS!!

Also, even if I don’t win a copy, I still need an autographed copy… I’ll be in touch! :)

  19. So excited about your book! Love mysteries. Congrats on the release, Amber!

  20. Jordon Robinson says:

Hey…so I’m not a regular commenter on your blog (I hope that doesn’t give me minus points), but I’d LOVE to read your book, I love your blog and the book sounds awesome! Why should you give a book to me? Simple, cause I live in Ireland…I’m Irish…and everyone loves Irish people! So in the future you could have the following conversation:

Awesome Author Amber: Ooh…Hi! you should buy my book! It’s really cool, It’s really interesting!
    Stranger: well I don’t know…what’s it about?
Awesome Author Amber: …an Irish person read it and loves it…
Stranger: oh ok! Where can I buy it!?!

…And cue mass buying of your book. See….a book for me means that you can market it without the time-consuming process of even explaining the story-line! :D

  21. So I checked out the reviews on Amazon, looks like a winner already. Also, my first name is Ruth so I always enjoy reading books about myself, hehe…. Thirdly, I love a good read! All the best to all the entries!

    Happy Thanksgiving Season :-)

  22. CONGRATS on the release Amber. Here’s to your uberlicious success!!! BAM!!!

  23. Congrats, Amber! I am so proud of you. And I’m dying to read the book, I’m just too poor to buy it til after Christmas LOL

  24. I would love to have a copy of this to read and hope I am lucky enough to win one!

  25. Congratulations on the new book Amber!

  26. Hey hey hey!

First I want to say CONGRATS!!! This is such a fantastic accomplishment. And secondly I would devour that book in a day if given a copy( And I waited till practically the last minute because that is the way I roll). Also you’re kinda sorta awesome already so I know your book is going to be all sorts of fun to read. And I will share the wealth with anyone I come into contact with, thrusting the book at them saying “Your life will be better once you read this book” ;-) So everyone will be happy.

  27. Congratulations Mrs. West! From a parent of two of your fellow students, it would be AWESOME to win a book from a famous person. Go Gumby! :)

  28. I noticed that you were “a Northeastern transplant dodging rodent sized bugs and sweltering heat in the jungles of Central Florida.” I am actually from central Florida (hate the bugs, love the warmth), but recently moved northeast (by way of Texas) to Kentucky. Enjoyed the fall, but am a little concerned about weathering the winter. (It was 26 degrees here this morning. Brrr!)

Anyway, my niece (in-law), Arin, shared information on Facebook about your book. Because she chose to be a part of our family, I know she has good taste. I come from a family of avid readers who are always looking for good books to enjoy and share. This sounds like it would fit the bill. I would love to win a copy of your book and then recommend it to others.

    • Amber West says:

I love cold winters! Just drink warm yummy things.

Glad Arin shared the link with you. I’ll announce the winners soon!

  29. So…you want a copy on the “West” Coast, right? I’d be happy to be your West Coast rep! Also wondering, you said to qualify we must “a) comment on today’s post”…is there a b) and c)? ;)

  30. Hey, sorry. Just realized I missed your deadline because it’s only 10:26 am here! Oops :(

I love comments!
